HT ID's

I was wondering what Kind of signaling is used on the Handie-Takies, (ie MDC 1200, MDC 600 etc.)  Also what is the signaling ID for the VHF Handie-Talkies, the ones that go to the dispatcher.

The ID's on the UHF radios are not MDC, it's another format which allows the 7 digits instead of 4.  I can't remember then name for it.

VHF's I think are MDC1200 but it's not used for anything.

Does anyone know what kind of ID was used in the old Handie-Talkies (the Sabers, I know its not MDC 1200 or MDC600)
