I had the pleasure to meet him once (at the L-10 reopening ceremony in 1984). A genuinely nice man, and a great guy. My thought and prayers are with you and your family.

From Mary Boyle:
"We received the results of dads mri and we are all heartbroken but not surprised. The cancer is running wild it is all throughout his head and has metasized. We will find out how long he has tomorrow. All his treatments are now stopped. Tomorrow they will talk to us about palative/hospice. We are all devastated. The only good news is they will start him on pain meds tonight and tomorrow they will start morphine. Totally heartbroken for him as he has tried so hard to fight this f disease"

Thank you for this story. Jimmy Boyle surely will be missed by those who knew him.

My condolences to his family, friends, and to the members of the FDNY.
