L53 Spartan

It still runs as TL53.
It was donated after 9/11.  The boom came from a 1973 ex-FDNY rig that was serving in South Carolina that was in the process of being remounted, and the company donated the entire rig.  It served briefly as TL105 before moving to CTS and finally TL53.

The Spartan is still in service, I saw it the other day while on City Island. It is sue to be replaced soon, unless Ladder 53 gets disbanded.

Re Ladder 53

That rig (ST01002) was NOT donated. It was purchased from Aerialscope (Seagrave) after 9/11. It is a 2001 Spartan with chassis # GA41M and has the Baker 75 foot tower ladder boom formerly on MT7402, a 1974 Mack CF/Baker 75 foot tower ladder originally assigned to Ladder 107. ST01002 was delivered to FDNY in October, 2001, and assigned to Ladder 105. It was reassigned to Ladder 53 in July, 2003, and is still in service there, together with Engine 70, at 169 Schofield Street on City Island, Bronx.
