My brother just taught a course in a building designed to house the Hindenburg. He said it is the largest free-standing wood structure in the world. Anyone know if it is sprinkelered, he said it is so large he could not tell.

It was built in 1921, so I doubt that it is sprinklered . . . unless some bright bulb in DOD decided to spend a few million bucks to retrofit it.  Here's Some info on it:

A while ago a friend sent photos of two rigs stored outdoors on the NAS property, one was a 700 series ALF pumper from Chevron, Perth Amboy, the other was the 193? tractor and trailer of the Jersey City ALF Water Tower in pretty poor condition.  (Delivery photo attached).

Anyone have an idea why these rigs are here, and was there ever any chance of restoration of the tower?
