I heard that new gloves are going to be issued all FF's and are alot better than the old ones. Did anyone else hear this? I think it would be good considering the ones issued now suck. My pair always stiffens up and has terrible grip, its like your wearing oven mitts.

They having been talking about getting newer "3D" gloves for along time.

They have been testing gloves for awhile. I have a few test pairs that seem ok to me but for one reason or another they don't pass the department's requirements. I have a pair of gloves that have great grip even when wet and the item your trying to pick up is wet, however they won't protect you very well in moderate heat.

So far the American Firewear "3D" glove (kangaroo leather) seems to be a great all around glove and we like it. No glove has got the perfect grip because they are all bulky and whatnot, but these are more managable than the Tempos we use.

They do not seem to bunch up and are more condusive to normal hand movements.

You can find them cheaper but here is a link.
