couldnt get a shot but noticed a spare Ladder with the FSD markings instead of numbers. is this going to be the norm from now on??

When we visited the Paidge Ave. Shops Annex we saw fully equipped spares with FSD (Fleet Services Div.) markings. I believe they said these were spare engines and ladders with full compliment of ladders, hose, tools, etc. available for instances when a company has their rig O.O.S. for a short time.

When a rig goes out of service and the shops take it, it is completely stripped of all the companies equipment.
They are given a spare rig which they put all of their equipment on.
They are never given a rig with equipment.

These righs could possibly be used as reserve rigs if they had to be activated.

Never heard of this. I know 85 had a spare earlier this week and it was one of the 1998 trucks with the magnetic and duct tape markings.

Would love to see pictures of one of those. Seems almost like the NYPD FSD cars to me.
