Larry Taylor, age 81, awarded the MOH in September, 2023 passed away on January, 28th. An Army helicopter pilot, Lt. Taylor flew over 2,000 combat missions in Vietnam. He was forced down five times.

While flying a two-man Cobra in Binh Duong Province on June 18, 1968, he rescued four trapped Army Rangers in a firefight. Landing under gunfire at night the Rangers climbed on the skids and rocket pods of his helicopter with only seconds to spare.

His comment: "It needed doing." "We never leave a man behind."
