Unfortunately it is much more deeply rooted than that. NYC is currently offering illegal immigrants a one way plane ticket to anywhere outside the United States. Almost no takers. Big article the other day that now that winter has set in , many of the illegal border crossers in Chicago are going back to South America because the American Dream is not obtainable after sleeping on police station floors for three months. Chicago does not warehouse them in hotels with meals and snacks 24/7 and allow them to steal scooters and keep them parked in front of the hotels. Recently NYC began transferring a planned 2000 illegal immigrants to A tent city at Floyd Bennett Field - and as quickly as the arrived on site they protested and reboarded the buses demanding to be taken back to the hotels. NYC has spoiled them and they believe they have rights. Similarly, as Mayor Adams was arriving in Washington DC to meet with members of the Biden administration to demand action on the illegal immigrant crisis in NYC he abruptly turned around and raced back to NYC as one of his Campaign managers was being arrested by the FBI, several days later Mayor Adams had all his electronics seized by the FBI. A week after that Adams starts the municipal cuts he threatened. First canceled a new class of school safety officers , now cancelled a class of NYPD recruits. All coincidences????
