The bill, which has been sent to committee, would require all sirens transition to a two-tone, European-style siren because they've been found to be just as effective "but without as shrill or invasive an impact on communities".

Or have a member walk in front of the rig and politely ask people and cars to get out of the way. When are these politicians going to return to their senses?

That assumes they had senses in the first place!  I'll bet those replacement sirens will work great navigating around the bus and bike lanes!

We used that type on the first electronic sirens in the late seventies. The powers to be then did away with it.

Be careful with your suggestions . . . some idiot council member might think that was a great idea.  ::) 8) ::)

How about mounting a politician on the bumper with their privates in a pair of vice-grips?  ::)

Just need to mount some armor plate on the front of the apparatus to reduce the risk of collateral damage from the gunfire.  ::)

If they won't for this, good luck with new restrictions.

Someday that UPS hump is gonna need an ambulance and...........
What goes around comes around

Didn't they try to do this in Chicago?  As far as I know it went nowhere. Hopefully that will be the same result here.

Why don't we just sit someone on the hood of the rig and he can yodel. No one heeds the sirens anyway.

only if he does the "rrrrriiiiiiiiiiccccccoooooooolllllllllaaaaaaaaaa" song.

We, and everybody who lives in, works in or visits New York City should be eternally thankful that the Solons of our highly esteemed, pristine City Council are addressing and informing us of a matter of such overwhelming, drastic magnitude as siren noise.  How can we possibly be so blessed to have these extraordinary, expert intellects who dedicate their lives and fortunes to public service faithfully leading and guiding us through the troubles that the Forces of Evil daily visit upon us?

Hallelujah, Brother!!  Hey, yo!! Pass the bottle over here!!

P.S. - Anyone hear anything about what the City Council is doing about new firehouses, EMS stations or a police precinct being installed at Bloomberg City, A/K/A Hudson Yards?
