I hear on the radio alot that companies (rigs) are having problems with there MDT's....

No problems, just normal.
The FDNY Starfire/MDT system is pretty old and dated, So it does go down a lot.
They have also been playing with them and adding the GPS stuff so some units run into problems after the install. However they shouldn't be too many problems from that anymore.
