R-4's old rig (SR-02004) is now R-6 ..fully loaded and ready to go , stored at SOC tools @ 58th street.
The Pierce, The "Oklahoma" and 2 of the other "02" are spares rigs?no equipment on then, used when one of the Ferrara's goes OOS for repair , more then a day or two. If one of the Ferrara's is to go OOS for only a few hours,or just a tour that company will be given R-6 to use ?no rig turn over, no OOS time for that company. A complete rig turnover can take about 3 or 4 hours with not all of the equipment fitting on the spare rig.
The "Oklahoma" and the Mack/General where donated rigs after 9-11. The "Oklahoma" was specced to match the "02" rigs that where order right after 9-11? the only complaint with the "Oklahoma" was that it was just a little smaller then the "02's" and some of the equipment didn't all fit. The "Oklahoma" was a extremely reliable rig and a true work horse for over 10 years. It's a little beat up and very tiered now! Thank you to the people of Oklahoma !!
The Mack/General which is marked "Rescue Services"was never a good "fit". The cab was way to small and the box small then the "02"'s. The interior of the box was of poor design and only carried about 70% of the equipment normally carried The Mack/General was used as a reserve Rescue and stored with Sq-270 for the past 11 years . Both Tac 1 & 2 where lost after Sandy. Tac 2 is using the spare Tac and Tac 1 is using the Mack/General till the new Tac's are built.
