Rockville Centre NY (Nassau) Bus Fire 5/31/22

Late on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, the Rockville Centre Fire Department was called to a NICE bus fire at the intersection of Lakeview Avenue and North Centre Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they encountered a confirmed bus fire with the driver and all occupants safely evacuated. Two hand lines were stretched and put into operation off Rockville Centre Engine 443 which led to the main body of fire being quickly knocked down. Nassau County Hazmat was requested to the scene to assist, there were no reported injuries, and all fire department units were under the command of Rockville Centre Chief of Department Avondet [4401].
