Incident Location: 1549 Parkview Avenue

On the night of Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, the Seaford Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Parkview Avenue in the dead end off Boston Avenue. Firefighters stretched three hand lines and put at least two hand lines into operation for a vehicle fire with extension into a two-story private dwelling. Firefighters had the main body of the fire quickly extinguished and were able to keep the fire from extending deep into the residence. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there were no reported injuries. Seaford First Assistant Chief Cottone [6801] had command of the incident until the arrival of Seaford Chief of Department Kern [6800]. (Text Credit K2M)

The Seaford Fire Department received multiple calls reporting a house fire in the dead end of Parkview Avenue about 18:15 on December 20, 2023. Engine 682 was the first unit to respond and was given additional information that there was a vehicle fire in the driveway that had extended to the house. Due to the volume of calls and Nassau County Police on scene confirming the fire, Captain Lochner requested a FAST Truck, Working truck and an addtionial Engine to the scene. First Assistant Chief Cottone was also responding but was coming from a distance. 682 arrived and Captain Lochner transmitted a working fire and had fire on the first and second floor and attic of the two story home. Chief Cottone arrived shortly after and took command. When Ladder 683 and Massapequa Ladder 632 arrived, they both set up in front of the house. The Engine crews from 682, 681 and Wantagh 693 stretched and operated three lines to extinguish the vehicle fire and the fire on all levels of the home. The crews from Ladders 683, 632 and North Massapequa 661 who was originally the FAST but was put to work on arrival, laddered vented and searched the home with all searches being negative. During the operation Chief of Department Kern and Second Assistant Chief Beehler arrived. The fire was brought under control within an hour with no reported injuries. Additional mutual aid to the scene was provided by the Massapequa Fire Department for an Engine, the Wantagh Fire Department for an additional Ladder and Engine and the Bellmore Fire Department for a FAST Truck. Units from the South Farmingdale and Bethpage Fire Departments stood by for Seaford. The cause of the fire is under investigation. (Text Credit Zone 2 Photo)
