Squad 18

I believe Squad 1 had their second piece before HAZMAT became as big as it is today.
 
Squad 1 has always had a second piece refered to as the technical response vehicle.It carries the haz-mat equipment that all the other squads carry but they also carry equipment for technicle rescue.
 
Does any one know if squad 18 is going to be replaced with a new seagrave rescue-pumper or is it going to be repaired and placed back in service?
 
Guys in the house say it's just rumors..... They are actually running with I believe a 93 or 94 spare due to brake problems with the 98 spare

To bad the fire department cant make up thier mind what they are going to do.Ilike the squad rigs fdny has nice looking trucks but how long does the department think a hard run and beat up spare is going to last in manhattan?Squad 18 i think is the bussiest squad in the city so i dont think a 11 year old spare would last long.Would like to see the new seagraves with a rescue body.

Squad 18 might just be the slowest Squad in the city...most of there boxes are in downtown area due to 41 coming over the brigde and taking in all the harlam boxes.
