With the Thanksgiving, 2024 Holiday now upon us, I want to wish ALL of our members, as well as visitors to this Great Website, "a very Happy Thanksgiving"

I also want to give a Special THANK YOU to Retired FDNY Captain John Bendick for providing us with this website.

If you are traveling by car, rail, or airline this busy holiday weekend please be safe out there.
Maybe you are attending the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Or maybe you are working at the firehouse, or on duty as a police officer, maybe you are providing medical care working on an ambulance or a medic unit, or working in a neighborhood pharmacy.
Or you are a doctor, nurse, or a hospital staff employee helping the sick and injured in any one of our hospitals across the entire country.

This Thanksgiving is expected to be one of the busiest travel holiday weekends in many years, with weather conditions making it very difficult throughout many parts of the country.

Whether you are traveling or staying home REMEMBER - "If you have your good health, a roof over your head, and food to eat - YOU have a lot to be THANKFUL FOR".
So many people across the world DON'T have what YOU have.

Well, what are you doing this Thanksgiving?
Why not let us know.

I will be watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade on T.V. then going to one of my favorite nearby restaurants where I made reservations to get a great Thanksgiving Dinner after the parade.

Well said Willy. We all have much to be very thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all on this site, and their loved ones. A special thank you to all who make this site so successful, both behind the scenes and via regular and frequent posts. Stay well.

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.'

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'

'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'

'If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world .'

'If your parents are still alive and still married...you are very rare.'

'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair.'
