I have heard of the term trombone tool but can anyone tell me what it is and what it is used for?

I've heard of a Trombone Pump, it's used in wildland fire incidents

This TROMBONE TOOL got me thinking. A tool that would meet that criteria, IE: operated by sliding the handle back and forth would be the PRYAXE. It was invented by Chief Manny Fried out of the 44 Battalion quite a ways back in the years. If you google pryaxe you will get to see it and also its many features and use and is still sold by Paratedh. We had one when I was with Spring Valley H&l #1 back in the late sixties. Would make a damn good officers tool in my humble opinion.
