On October 1, 1964 five members of the Boston Fire Department answered their last alarm at Box 5-1671. This was the largest loss of life at a single incident since November 15, 1942 when six members were killed at Box 5-6153, both of which were surpassed on June 17, 1972 at Box 4-1571, the Vendome fire. Rest in peace to all members.
