One of the local sports announcers pointed out that NY fans are much maligned for being poor sports - however these types of sports riots do not happen in NY - and with the exception of the Yankees we have a lot of losing teams!

Same thing happened in Detroit circa 1990 when the Pistons won the NBA Championship!
