-The credo of the United States Army Medevac helicopter crews who operated in Vietnam between May 1962 and March 1973. All volunteer "Dustoff" crews evacuated around 900,000 souls, frequently at night and under heavy enemy fire. 90 pilots were killed and 380 wounded; 121 crew members KIA, 545 wounded.
A bill, the Vietnam War Congressional Gold Medal Act requiring two thirds of the US House and Senate, would award the Congressional Gold Medal to the "Dustoff" crew members. It has been introduced in the Capitol and is awaiting bipartisan agreement. This should be a no-brainer.
