"A Manhattan man who was charged in 2011 with the attempted murder of a police officer is under investigation in connection with a large weapons cache that was found Wednesday at a home in the Nodine Hill section of the city.

A law enforcement source, speaking to The Journal News on condition of anonymity, identified the man as 54-year-old Antonio Olmeda, who is being held at Rikers Island. In December 2011, Olmeda was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot at two police officers in Queens. He was a plumber with a prior criminal record that included possession of guns, ammunition and bomb-making materials."
