West Hamilton Beach VFD. Would they respond to Howard Beach?
Yes. I was a volly with them in the early 90s. They basically cover all of West Hamilton, and Old and New Howard from roughly the Belt Pkwy to the Cross Bay Bridge, and all the way out to 78th Street.

Welcome. It's kind of funny. I was just thinking today that that area seemed really slow or calls weren't getting reported here. I can count on both hands the number of structure fires per year for that area. But certain times of the year was good for brush fires every day about the same time, and most going to 2s and 3s or better for 2 or 3 weeks on end. I remember eng 229 coming in once and getting stuck in the sand with an airport arff truck on the east side of the railroad tracks in West Hamilton.

Just when ya think that, job in Howard beach. What’s that saying… if you build it they will come. In this case, if you think it…

229 from brooklyn?
Yep. Thinking back on that day there was quite a few units we don't normally see there. There must have been something else going on with relocators all around. Our Deputy Chief rip at the time was a ff in 146 before he transferred to 142.
