Guess that was before the Prospect Expressway was built.
240 isn’t assigned 2nd due there?
Nope. From quarters over

Eng 240 left quarters to Park Circle and took Fort Hamilton (over the expressway) to McDonald . Left on McDonald to Church Ave.
Fast run back in the days (60’s). Hung out there as a buff. Also knew the assignment as a Brooklyn FAD LATE 60’s to mid 70’s.
With the new CAD any of those three engines could be first due.

In the mid 60’s and onward 240 is 1st due to 1501 box.
I buffed at 240 in the mid 60’ as a teenager, then 283 until early 70’s
Also a Bklyn FAD lates 60’s (war years until) until mid 70. During those time 240 was first due. Not sure with the new CAD what they are.

Eng 240 6/10 mile
Eng 281 8/10 mile
Eng 282 1.2 miles

I'm not very familiar with the area around 240 but it seems like they have a tough time getting out of the area between the cemetery and the park especially going south.

240 would of been better off going straight down CI Ave, after circle, to Church Av & then make a right. Less turns & wider ave than Ft. Ham Pkwy.
