They are known as THE GREATEST GENERATION!
I worked with a WWII veteran (Army?) who was a captain in the fire dept where I worked.
In the Blizzard of 1978 he went out to shovel the ramp by himself because he said he wanted the exercise.
All while he told me, a young firefighter with only 2 years on the job to go inside and put the coffee on for myself and the other firefighter (MPO). He will be 103 years old on June 14th (Flag Day)
But since the last two months he has been living in a nursing home
