Safety Battalion 2 (SB02) In Service Dates

Beginning on Monday, June 8, 2026, Safety Battalion 2 (SB02) will be in service and will be responding from the quarters of E091 on the following dates:

June 8, 2026
June 10, 2026
June 12, 2026 (tentative)
June 13, 2026
June 16, 2026
June 22, 2026
June 25, 2026
June 27, 2026
July 19, 2026
On the above dates, SB02 will be in service for 24-hours, from 0700 to 0700 the following day.
June 30, 2026 → July 8, 2026
SB02 will be in service as of 0700 on June 30, 2026 through 0700 on July 9, 2026

SB02s primary response area is
DC03, DC06, DC07, BC49, BC52, and BC53.

The nearest available Safety Battalion shall be assigned to any incident requiring a Safety Battalion.

As gets closer to World Cup and July 4th Weekend is going to decide on extra staffing. Waiting to see how it goes for now. But there is a few “RESERVE” Companies in the talks about staffing.

Nice to have a Battalion in 91's Quarters again. Used to be for those of Us who remember 91 & 43 and the 25 Battalion.

SB2 seems to be an early thing put in at any of these more busy days, could it be something on the cards to become permanent in the future at some point?

As kid in the 1950's i remember ENG*91 ...LAD*43...DV*4 & an equipped non manned Reserve LAD all at 240 & 242 East 111 St.....43 was separate on their side ( 2 kitchens) ...everything else was on the double bay 91 side...only crossover inside was in the single HW area & another in the rear of the 3rd floor.

Was on of the last things tried to get full time before the new administration. It was supposed to be SB2 and FC2 but didn’t happen they even had a date for SB2. I see it coming soon. It’s definitely needed!
