Time of day is a big factor with Kingsbridge Road heavily travelled with buses and car double parking issues, straight from quarters up Albany crescent is most likely route especially to 196 and creston Ave.

Since 75 moved to new quarters a few blocks south and off of Jerome Ave the area above Kingsbridge road changed with 81 being moved up in assignments and 75 going back, basically they flip flopped.

    TACTICAL USE OF FIRE HYDRANTS.

again not looking to argue but the upper three suctions are draft only with 6” threads used for officers side draft port on the 2,000 gpm pumpers. The old traditional hard suction is no longer carried. The old soft hydrant connection was changed with an increase in its diameter and it is more...

    TACTICAL USE OF FIRE HYDRANTS.

The hard suction has been taken off all pumpers since advent of 2,000 gpm pumps, standard suctions are 3 6” suctions for drafting only. Then the larger soft suction for hydrant 11’ in length but bigger interior diameter than previous soft suctions carried 4 1/2 threads. Next option is 5” 35’...

It’s part of UFOA contract that first line piece must be replaced by 10 years 364 days. If not then the non relocate and other restrictions apply. This prevents the FDNY from giving the busy companies new apparatus and reassigning older apparatus to slower companies as was done in the past...

For the new member here, 52/52 do not get relocated due to them being in a remote area, they do respond to fires on multiple alarms when directed by dispatcher. When they do respond to,fires they also must be filled with a relocator. Todays dispatch protocols use incoming units relocating into...

London Fire Brigade No Longer Responding to Automatic Fire Alarms without a call Reporting a Fire in non-Residential Buildings

The DRB was for Battalion Chief to respond at his discretion, it was only 1 Engine or 1 Ladder depending on month. If I remember Engines did 2 months trucks did 1 and so on. if a second source came in dispatcher would fill out the assignment and notify the responding unit of additional...

All Engines in area near city line have fittings and adapters for that county, with additional left in firehouse for relocators and such. Yonkers units have similar to use the NYC hydrants if advantageous to operation.

No need to special call Yonkers, all units on the border have adapters for the Yonkers system.

    11/4/2024 Bronx 2nd Alarm Box 3596

Difficult area for brush, you actually use Yonkers hydrant on north end of service to fill up boosters and then they respond back south to east 233rd and head north on service road to return to fire area. Usually three or four pumpers used depending on volume of fire, hook up line use up water...
