Valley Stream Fire Department House Fire – Lyncrest Street [6-12-23] - K-Mad

Last evening, just after 5pm, the Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department was notified for a house fire on Lyncrest Street. Upon arrival of units, heavy smoke was seen coming from the second floor of the home and a Signal 10 (working fire) was quickly transmitted. A fire was located in the attic and knee walls of the home. The knee walls is the space between the interior second floor walls and the pitch of a peak roof. The fire was brought under control in less then an hour. Engine 342 and Tower Ladder 345 were first due and mutual aid was received from numerous surrounding departments. One firefighter suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office.
