The Photo above of Engine 18's 1954 Mack "L" I believe is the same rig that was used as a spare for the FDNY Satellites in the 1970's. One Sunday I drove, I think that rig, as the Satellite Spare to a 4th Alarm om Bushwick Brooklyn. I was a Firemen in Engine 27 at that time, and was often detail to Satellite 1 on Spring St. in the 1970's the Spring Street Firehouse, that is now the FDNY Museum, was the FDNY Medical Office and was the former quarters for FDNY Engine 30. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired.
