I can see if they’re first due or right around the corner of the hydrant and they’re the fastest unit to get there but I really don’t see the purpose of having a squad taking a hydrant at all. what Certs do the rescue guys have that squad companies do not I think off the top of my head I believe it’s scuba and possibly high angle rescue

don’t understand what the roll of the chief of training and the chief of the fire Academy at a fifth alarm what would be their responsibility also, please explain the concept of requesting an extra engine and an extra truck. why not just go straight to the second alarm after the 1075

well, the question is who gets paid more? squad company, hazmat or the rescue crew. i hope squad members get stipend for all hazards and disciplines.

squad companies are the most versatile units in FDNY. I don’t know why they don’t have the TSU TAC units as their second piece that would be great. definitely need more of those.

The public calls them fire stations. The members/ firefighters usually call them fire houses because it is incense their home away from home. and then some countries it is their home actually and it’s a privilege to live there. You get paid to live somewhere. and you work for free.
