There are photos of it being used as a spare for ladder 101 some years back but other than those first few years its probably been sitting as a reserve since only being taken out every so often for maintenance and other miscellaneous stuff.
Walkaround Video of Ladder 4's old Rig. 2001 Seagrave Rearmount Ladder. Now Reserve Ladder 708. This piece of apparatus was originally assigned to the Bureau of Training until being reassigned to Ladder 4 after their Brand New 2001 Seagrave (SL01002) Was destroyed by the Collapse of the South Tower.
I agree I liked the old era big department decal on the doors and such. Wasn't a fan of the decals after 2002. Random but since we’re on the topics of decals, was wondering if anybody knew why they switched from having “FIRE” on the side compartment doors to “FDNY” starting in 2008.
I'd be surprised if we saw 01/02's in a few year's time still being used. At the rate they have been auctioning half a dozen every two or so months. I estimate there's only under two dozen 01/02's left in the fleet including reserve ladders. Not sure about 05/06's they made up a fraction...
In 2020 Ladder 12 was using their old 02 95' Tower Ladder. I believe after their 1999 Seagrave was involved in an accident they received BOT/Ex Ladder 85's rig until they got their 2012 TL.
Looking to see if anybody has photos or information relating to what seems to have been an accident involving 22 truck in a spare sometime within the middle of 2021. At the time they were using a 02 Spare Tower Ladder.
The Spare Currently Used by Ladder 5 (Ex Ladder 104) SL02007T is the "Oldest Tiller Spare" in the fleet. The one at the rock at the moment is strictly there and not in the spare pool unless for emergency use. Then again, if they ran out of tillers in the spare pool they could use Rear-Mount...
Walk-Around of the Oldest FDNY Tower Ladder still in the fleet. 2001/1999 Seagrave 95' Tower Ladder Ex Ladder 9. Responded to the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 which was severely damaged but was repaired and placed back into service a few short months later. Also did an Emergency Light demo...
Appreciate it, would've been nice if that rig still had the Pa300 siren going. I think Squad 61s 03 was one of the only few with the eq2b added. They were hauling to that job, thankfully it was 10 at night so streets very super empty.
Other than that Pumper, 238s foam tender although OOS still inside the firehouse. 3 Tower Ladders that are spares from Pre-9/11. I will be doing a walkaround video of Ladder 9's 2001/1999 95' Tower Ladder soon. 2 or 3 2001 Seagrave RM spares as well, Ex Ladder 24's 1999 Seagrave RM at the rock...
