    Correct 68jk. The bridge has a circular turn with an overhead clearance just enough to accommodate the rigs. Drops about 40 feet from street level Queens side down to Rossevelt Island.

    Engine 49 was housed on Welfare Island NKA Roosevelt Island. They disbanded in 1958. What gets me about this Box is it continues to be a Manhattan Box. Why doesn't Manhattan send units ? OH WAIT , its in Queens. 2 chiefs on the Box.

    Our 2nd anniversary of losing FDNY Lt Russo assigned to station 49 in Astoria. She was murdered 2 years ago and is still sorely missed. Had a wreath laying in Her honor. Continued condolences to Her Family.
