The city of Houston has always treated the Houston Fire Dept as a second rate step-child. It's a shame as HFD has some really good people in the trenches, who themselves are the victims of City Hall's callous indifference. I fear it will take a tragedy before Houston's elected officials wake up...

Bill Moeclare's son was a firefighter in 132 before he transferred to R-1. A good guy, he later attended Nursing School at Bellevue prior to his retirement.

There's a good discussion on another post regarding Tower Ladders vs Rear Mounts. Here I was wondering what your thoughts were regarding FDNY type Tower Ladders vs Ladder Towers (i.e. buckets mounted on aerial ladders on either rear mounted or mid mounted apparatus). Just wondering what you think.
