01/04/09 Box#???? Brooklyn Navy Yard: A first?

At about 1320 hours... really sorry I missed the box #.

In 40+ years of buffing the job this is the first time I ever heard the preliminary report on a land based incident given by a Marine Company!

Marine 6 gave a preliminary report of a fire on the 4th floor of a commercial building that had apparently been extinguished by the bldg. sprinkler system.

Wonder if they ran up from the boat's berth with a few lengths of rolled-up's!  ;-)

Just sounded so odd.  Did anyone else hear this?

Marine 6 is in the Navy yard. They probably took it in on foot.

The Box was 8050. I was listening too and was really suprised. 31 had 4 3 Rescuse and Squad, I believe due to Marine 6's report and the hazardous material held in the building.

safety battalion is also housed with marine 6. did anyone hear them on the box? I'm pretty sure marine 6's building is 4 stories. wondering if it was in that building.

It was in Bldg 29 at the Navy yard.  Is that Marine 6's quarters? Fire was in room 402, a storage area.

Marine 6, Safety Battalion, and Marine Division HQ are in Building 292.
