08/27/09 Suspicious Manhattan Fires

3 Suspicious Fires in Manhattan early this morning.. surprised nobody mentioned.

Happened between 0430-0515. All in the same general vicinity :

1370 St Nicholas Ave Box 1733 - 10-77 All Hands fire 4th floor of a 32 story OMD, 10-41 Code 1


Shortly after that there was a phone alarm then verbal for smoke in the area which found fire in a 2 story taxpayer, 10-75, All Hands. 1493 St Nicholas Ave Box 1759

While that 2nd fire went All Hands, there was a couple of calls for a fire at 541 Academy St, unknown box number. Was the awning of a taxpayer on fire, no extension, BC-19 1st due BC.

All fires 10-41 code 1.

I haven't had much luck lately receiving Manhattan on Scanamerica for about the past month - what does come through occassionally has been pretty garbled - sorry can't help with any rundown. Only Brooklyn and Queens come through on a regular basis. I used to hear the Bronx as well but probably not for a couple of months.

Has anyone else had similar scanner conditions or know what's going on?  You can listen live on the bravest.com to all 5 boroughs but only 1 at a time.
