This collapse ocurred in the lot that is next to 287/136/46 qtrs.....(if you "google earth" it you may still see a 1 story commercial that actually fronted on Queens Blvd.)......this is a chronic problem site......the owner & builder of the new const. is the notorious Tommy Huang....he runs a very shady construction business...about 3 years ago he dug down 2 stories & wound up undermining the FH....all Companies had to be relocated for several days until the whole excavation was backfilled w/dirt & gravel to stabilize the FH foundation.....it remained that way up until recently....remediation was supposed to have been done to the FH foundation but it has not happened yet....the Bldgs Dept cannot keep up w/this guys moves.....he has a multi million $ corporation involving many names & relatives .....he has been cited w/several other illegal bldg projects but always skates or has one of his scapegoat figures holding the bag.....in the FH case his 76 year old site supervisor (a Ret. bldg dept guy) was locked up....Huang is the guy responsible for destroying the landmark  RKO Flushing Kieths theater on Northern Blvd. opposite Main St........he not only gutted the interior but he was responsible for a major Haz Mat situation in the basement of the theater......it has been standing vacant for well over 20 years & he recently sold the shell for 20 million...in some of his other moves in Queens he would buy a big Queen Anne & bulldoze it ...then build four dwellings sideways on the lot....he would sell them telling the buyers that the previous driveway (which the fronts of the dwellings faced ) was actually a STREET.......just a few of his accomplishments.......always one step ahead.
