A working structure fire at 18 Willow Lane, off Dean Road in the Flanders section of East Lyme. A tanker task force was requested. Tankers from Wequetequock FD and North Stonington FD included in tanker task force along with others. Flanders FD first due with mutual aid from Niantic FD,

Double fatal now 2 dead after 3rd alarm fire in East Lyme
95 year old resident and his 36 year old caretaker were killed in this fire. In addition to the tanker task force mentioned, fire departments from Waterford, Groton Sub Base, New London, Old Lyme, and Old Saybrook responded. Salem and Essex provided station coverage.
