I cant believe that old Ford Purple K rig is still out and running. My father in law had the same truck that he used as a plow and it died years ago. Of course, we do live in the land of salt and snow out here on New York's West Coast

They replaced all the other (2006 Trucks) with 2023s but they didn’t change the purple k systems they are on a skid mount and just put them on the new trucks. 229 and 228 had older units so maybe they are working on replacing the units before the trucks so they are the same. They also might be looking into getting a tote of the new Foam F500 as it seems to be very labor intensive to bring that up to the scene with 5 Gallon buckets

Most definitely. I wonder if they could repurpose/order new the lowback brush rigs out on Staten Island for the role? Having 4-wheeler with a big tank on the back makes more sense to me than a bucket brigade.

164 still has one. 168 uses a trailer. They are not assigned on initial responses.

All the brush trucks in general are to big and heavy. There was talks about getting just pick ups as 4 and 8 work out very well. There is also talks of a hose wagon being added which I believe is coming just don’t want to put nothing out there yet

With tillers slowly on their way back in with the department, maybe we will see engines get a separate pumper and hose wagon 😂
