Hey Soho and Mike, thanks as always for posting what you hear. It's not always clear what actually is happening...and this seems to be one of those circumstances.
As one familiar with this neighorhood and the companies involved I will try to re-construct what happened here. I am probably all wrong...mac8146, G-man, or 150...will shine the true light, but what the hell, here goes....
At about 0700 hours, 22 October 2012, BX CO got multiple calls for a fire on Perry Ave in the Norwood section of the Bronx. Address was given (or interpreted) to be 3242 Perry Ave, which would be located at Perry Ave and 207th street. BC CO transmitted Box 3565, Perry Ave at Holt Place (the nearest corner north). Normal assignment there:
62 79 48 32 37 BN 27
Due to multiple calls, BX CO dispatched a 4th engine, E88 (not the usuual 4th due at this box, unless BARB has changed it).
No fire was found at Perry and 207th, at Holt Place, or in the vicinity.
A second address, 3042 Perry Ave was also received by BX CO. BN 27 advised E88, on their way up Webster Avenue, to investigate this address, which is just above Mosholu Pkwy North on Perry Ave. That's about 5 blocks south of where everyone else was looking.
Bingo, there's the fire. 10-75 by E88. E88 does the stretch, knocks it down.
E79 62 48 L37 32 reassigned to BOX 3531, Hull Ave at Mosholu Pkwy North. That explains E88 1st due (normally 4th due) and E48 (usually 3d due) as 4th due. L56 as FAST.
How wrong am I here?
