Two...Two high axle vehicles in service! Is this a misprint? Shouldn't it read 102 high axle vehicles available?

Just going per the 65-2 message. Two Trucks can carry 50-60 people, What about the other 8 odd million New Yorkers?

Houston PD has 20 rigs, every police agency around here has some. Houston FD has 9, as well as 21 air boats. Engine companies with the air boats routinely spend weekdays at Lake Houston drilling. All municipalities also have crews with dump trucks ready for expected events.

And, of course, we have the Cajun Navy who can put bass boats and pirogues out from here to the horizon.

FDNY Has atleast 6 high axle units, if not more. Along with the multiple other boats that can be deployed by Soc and marine company's. The BFUs and RRVs can also be deployed if the need for them came.

High Axel & Swift Water @ R3
High Axel & Swift Water @ R2
Each Swift Water pick up gets assigned a Zodaic boat when it’s activated.

BFUs are used for floods and may be activated by the Engine company it’s assigned to. (BFU 1,2,3,6,7)

Each Rescue, Squad 2nd Piece, Both TSUs and Marine TAC have Zodaic boats that can be used on a daily basis.

It’s based off of High Tide and other factors nothing was in effect so only 2 were activated. They have the ability to do a total of 6 High Axels with the 6 Swift Water Pick ups. SCUBA & Swift Water Utility can also be used as a task force with zodaic boats and you have the SSLs that can be manned for trees down, wires down, etc

My point: If Houston has 29 high axel rigs, not to mention 21 airboats, Zodiac boat, and jet skis, then standing up two high axle vehicles is just for show.

You can’t really base NYC off Houston Texas…. Just because Houston has 21 doesn’t mean FDNY needs 21. High Axel in the bronx didn’t get any runs. High Axel in Brooklyn went out a few times. The rain wasn’t as bad and not as much flooding as pervious storms. The FDNY still has to control the OT.

Just because FDNY is the biggest Fire Dept doesn’t mean every engine, ladder, rescue in the United States need to carry what FDNY has. Have to go with what works for that department.

They sometimes don’t go to the proper numbers…

High Axels usually go to

Rock, R2, R3, Totten, R5 and the other I have seen at SQ270 & E4 depending on where a lot of snow or flooding

FDNY has 197 Engines, why doesn't Houston?
FDNY has highrise units, why doesn't Houston?
FDNY has 5 heavy rescues and 8 Squads, why doesn't Houston?
How many does Houston have?
New York City's population is about 8.6 million and Houston's is about 2.4 million.
