Staten Island 10-75 Box 4227 fire in the kitchen. About 30 minutes ago

Box Location - HYLAN BLVD 500' N OF WOODS OF ARDEN RD

South Shore just got hit hard by a ton of calls, BFUs went into service as engines and companies are going from box to box...

And the mayor want to close 2 Engine companies down

Catry is correct - the calls are non stop with wires down from trees blocking roads to wires pulled off residences etc.  This 10-75 kitchen fire was caused by a live outside wire that arced.

first floor due to an arcing outside wire - have Con Ed respond - no Special Units
are needed at this box

building with woods all around it - we have no Exposure problems - we had a live

Thats Staten Island for ya. We NEED more, this amount of companies is just not gonna cut it come 2 years or so with the rapid [over]growth of this Island.
