2-14-58 WOOSTER ST COLLAPSE.

53 years ago..... 2-14-58...... a Fire & Collapse at 137 to 139 Wooster St. Lower Manhattan NY a six story 80 x 100 brick loft  took the lives of 2 FDNY & Four NY Fire Patrol Members..... the bldg collapsed completly shortly after FD operations began.......a Fifth Alarm as well as special calls for additional manpower  were utilized in the search & Rescue operations to recover the Six.......there was 9 inches of snow as well as temperatures as low as 4 degrees.....The Six were ......FDNY FF s Bernard Blumenthal LAD*20.....FF William G. Schmid LAD*1....& NY Fire Patrol Members...Sgt. Michael Mc Gee...Patrolmen Louis J. Brusati...James F. Devine...Michael R. I am glad that these Two FDNY Members and Four Fire Patrol Members have Not been forgotten. I never realized that the Fire Patrol had ever lost any members. Thank you for Not Forgetting and May they all Rest in Peace.
