Its a watermark. The picture was taken by a member of the CT Fire Photography association and that's the patch/water mark they add to the photo

Yeah I get that my guess is that member didn't drive to Lawrence Ma either since this picture was originally taken by a member Lawrence News paper.

I don't have a problem with it I myself as a highly respected and contributing member of this website was just letting another highly respected and contributing member of this website know what it was in the picture.

Sorry guys - my fault for not picking up the seal as a watermark. I did not look close enough and it looked like an apparatus logo to me. Sorry again.

I knew that Lawrence, like several other MA departments, had to make some serious cuts years back. I could not make out the details in the photo but I saw "Connecticut" and thought maybe it was a loaner.
