Just came in as breaking news in Connecticut Metro North suspending all trains going in and coming out of Grand Central Terminal untill further notice due to this explosion

FDNY EMS Medical Branch Director Progress Report #4: now reporting 15 total patients- 2 black, 3 yellow, 10 green (still O/S). 4 additional BLS units requested.

According to the Mayor's Press Conference, the 9-1-1 call was received at 0931 and the first FDNY unit was on the scene at 0933 (L-26?).  Two minute response time - FDNY excellence again.  Were E58/L26 in house four blocks away?  That's a quick response.

My guess is they probably heard the explosion and were out the door before the first call came in.

R.4 being special called to the staging area.  R.6 in service and relocating to R.4.
