Question for FDNY150; how long has E83 been responding 3rd due deep into Hunt's Point? The reason I ask is that way, way back when I was a "kid buff" (pre-1967) I remember E83/L29's wall chart and the highest 1st alarm 2400# boxes they responded to were 2400 thru 2407, everything above box 2408 had E82 going in 3rd or 2nd due. Now I see that E83 is 3rd due inside almost half of Hunts Point. ???

You got me, G. But, I could see them going there before 82 simply on routes taken.

I agree with you that E83/L29 taking Bruckner Blvd straight up is faster and safer than E82/TL31 trying to navigate through so many intersections through a crowded commercial/residential area and then trying to get across Bruckner Blvd into the "Point". Again, I asked because I remembered back-in-the-day E83/L29 had a much smaller response area.
