Fire Apartment door was left open...sending flames upstairs and trapping residents on upper floors. FFs were met with heavy fire at front door of building. Really need to start to enforce/push self-closing doors in these older buildings.

A self closing door, just like every other safety implement or modern convenience in these buildings a self closing door mechanism would be broken quickly.
 
Or they use a low level high density fusible link - in other words prop the door open with a brick
