In previous years, SI has worked off of the CW freq. from 18:00 - after 02:00, to avoid any radio traffic problems with Da Bx.

Anyone know if this will be the same for tomorrow (or as I look at the clock) tonight?

Also, does anyone know if they will be using the VHF or new UHF freq. tonight.  My thinking is that due to the heavy radio traffic expected, they may revert back to the VHF freq.  as the 4th may not be the best time to chance the new freq.  on the other hand, perhaps the new UHF will work better for the 4th.

I guess it would be could to have the availability of being able to have both on.

That has not happened in a number of years.  All radios were changed to the UHF.  They only rebroadcast on the old VHF.  Also, Da Bx and SI are on different frequencies on the new UHF.  The boros don't hear each other any more.  You only hear it on a scanner programmed to the old VHF.

Thanks for your reply - I actually have not used a scanner in quite a while.  I've been somewhat out of the loop on all the radio changes.  I've been listening via computer, so I've just clicked on a boro and listened.

Have A Happy & Safe 4th!

Fire traffic on the 4th is not 10% of what it was 10-15 years ago

I think this is what "Mike M" might be referring to. (RIP Chief Feehan - LODD, seen around the 5 min mark).

The last Fourth I worked was nothing more than an active night tour. The morning before Passover is the busiest day now and even that's showing signs of slowing down.
