5/31/10 -- All Hands/Helicopter Incident/Box 867

It was a tree that some branches torn apart by the downdraft of a Marine Osprey(moveable twin rotor) aircraft.

i went to this event last year it was pretty entertaining. FDNY had a big presence in the show last year (i was even in engine 164s foam carrier). but this proves may was an interesting month for the forgotton borough

While I get that this is(probably going to be "was") a tradition for Clove Lakes, i'm kinda wondering why they haven't done it in Miller Field all these years. It was in fact an old airfield, and there is a ton of open space, plenty for keeping people safe while putting on a good show.

I have attended a few of these since my son was deployed to Iraq in 2002 and FDNY has always had an engine, truck & foam unit on hand plus a couple of EMS buses. This time they were needed
