Location: 160-21 Beach Channel Dr -- NYC Sewer Treatment Plant
Eng 268 sent orginally in on a EMS run. found a worker at the bottom of the stairs within a confine space area. Batt 47 the I/C. R4,R5,TSU2,Field Comm,Comm Tact Unit, SQ270,Haz-Mat 1,Rescue medics,Haz-Tac.
Pt was removed and needed Decon. Stable Condition.
Time: 1416 hrs
 
Don't know where R2 was but that is who they sent as the secondary Rescue Company?

  Follow TSU-2 over VZ bridge, Belt Pkwy to Flatbush Ave/Marine Pkwy exit, over Marine Pkwy Bridge then head east towards Breezy Pt. . ;)

Hmm not as bad as I first thought. Only about 20-25 minutes without traffic.

Was R2 on another run? What would have happened if there was another call in SI or Brooklyn, do they call in R1?
 
Order of response for rescue companies in Battalion 47:  4-2-5-1-3
 
this incident wasnt in breezy, it was in rockaway park at the sewage treatment plant on beach channel drive and beach 106th street
 
Personally, I'd send 5 before 2 down there as well. It's almost all highway for them, whereas 2 has to dodge traffic to get down Utica to Flatbush.
 
R4 would have to deal with a lot of traffic on Woodhaven and Cross Bay Blvd's to get to Rock, especially during the afternoon.

  They'd be better off getting off at Flatbush and taking the Marine Pkwy bridge ;)
 
Yeah, G but it's still a pain in the neck to get down Woodhaven. And that's regardless if you're driving a car, or a rather large piece of fire apparatus.
 
  :eek:Sorry, I misread the Woodhaven post, I meant that it was easier for R5 to come via Marine Pkwy bridge. :-[
