Battalion 33: We have 2 story multiple dwelling 20x40, fire's on the 2nd floor.  Exposures are: 1 is a street, 2 is a similar attached, 3 is a rear yard, 4 is a 3 story private dwelling.  We have 1 line stretched, 1 line in operation, fire's Doubtful at this time.

Thanks Gman - For multiple alarms, looks like more engines assigned in 1960, more trucks in 1934.  I think R2 would be assigned on the 3rd alarm in 1960, maybe 1934.  That's what their response was in the 70s.

246 was a 2 section company in 1934.  Both sections responded on the 2nd alarm.  In 1960, E 246 was 2nd due on the box and E 327 (same house - used to be 2nd section) would respond on the 2nd.  By the way, when both companies (E 246 and E 327) responded from the old 3-bay Sheepshead Bay firehouse,  if they responded on the same box, E327 responded first if location was left of quarters and E 246 responded first if right of quarters.  As I've been told.
 
Also note that relocators were relocated to so it was more of a "Move-Up" situation on multiples in 1934. In the 1950's there was a WNYF article on the Alarm Assignment Div. saying long runs by ladder companies were being reduced because of higher incidences of traffic accidents involving ladder trucks.
