I remember when those FDNY members were laid off.

Some of the busiest fire companies in the city were closed down.

Firefighters outside of the FDNY thought if they could lay off firefighters in the busiest city in the country, during their very busy War Years - they could certainly do it any other place.

As a newly hired firefighter with just about a month on the job in a small city, "I was certainly worried".

I am sure there will be many stories shared at this luncheon event and many who haven't seen each other in years.
