from the FDNY Facebook page:

“We got a call around 9 am this morning for a worker trapped between two buildings. Once we got on scene, we discovered him trapped in a confined spaced. It is a difficult rescue; we had a solid concrete wall that took about a half an hour to breach. We cut a 6’x 2’ section of the wall and we were able to pull the victim out through the hole. We used partner saws with concrete blades and jack hammers to complete this operation,” said Battalion Chief John Leverock, from the scene of this morning’s confined space rescue at 165 Broome Street in Manhattan.
Chief of EMS Special Operations Mark Bonilla said, “The victim fell from approximately 30 feet. Firefighters were able to breach the wall and we were able to insert one of our Rescue Paramedics to begin patient care immediately. The patient was eventually removed and transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
